Luke Underwood Joins WASC Shaping Team
Originally from Australia, Luke Underwood has been a resident shaper in Ennistymon, County Clare for some time now. A well known face in Lahinch line ups and West Coast surf shapes Luke also has an incredible fun and loose style to his surfing. As one of Ireland's most profound shapers and having his own factory in Ennistymon we were delighted when Luke said he wanted to shape for the project and be involved.
And shape and glass Luke does very well. A second generation shaper Luke is also part of big wave family ties on the West Coast and shapes for plenty of big surf names on the scene as well. When we asked Luke for his input on which boards first he chose the egg, modern quad fish, pin twin and step up. All which turned out incredible and are customisable to every surfer that may be interested. He also custom shaped Joshua Karbus comp boards, for both Summer and Winter where the youngster has been ripping recently at comps at home and in Portugal.

“ It's a great privilege to have shapers like Luke Underwood on board. His vision and craftsmanship of surfboards for Ireland and the Atlantic comes not only objectively from such a high standard of surfing but a true credit to being able to shape for waves he now calls his own, for some time now, and that's talent right here in Ireland that just keeps developing with our quality waves. It's a testing paradise. ”
